چکیده
To increase the tool life of fine blanking punches, this work investigates a combined solution approach consisting increasing mechanical strength substrate material by shot peening and deposition physical vapor (PVD) hard coatings. A powder metallurgical high-speed steel (HSS) is used as material. First, temperature-dependent relaxation behavior residual stresses strain-hardening shot-peened analyzed. Subsequently, coating process for wear-resistant TiAlCrSiN adjusted regarding temperature to prevent heat input from causing significant effects. After peening, exhibits an increased hardness ?H IT ?+10% compressive ? ??1700 MPa. Significant after treaent occurs between T = 300 400 °C. Thus, does not exceed S ? °C during due adjusents. Shot leads roughness well slightly higher indentation coating. Moreover, coatings deposited on exhibit enhanced adhesion improved impact resistance.

Comparison of Properties of Ti/TiN/TiCN/TiAlN Film Deposited by Cathodic Arc Physical Vapor and Plasma-assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition on Custom 450 Steel Substrates
This study investigated the effects of deposition techniques on the microstructural and tribological properties of Ti/TiN/TiCN/TiAlN multilayer coatings onto a Custom 450 steel substrate. The coatings were produced using cathodic arc physical vapor deposition (CAPVD) and plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD). The microstructural of the coatings was evaluated using (SEM), and phase f...

Titanium(Ti) and zirconium(Zr) have been widely researched in the field of biomedical materials, due to their excellent mechanical properties and biocompatibility. They belong to group IVa in the periodic table, and are known to have similar chemical properties, and no toxic effects. However, they do not possess antibacterial properties. Inflammation and infection, which are usually caused by a...
متن کاملGrowth of carbon nanostructures upon stainless steel and brass by thermal chemical vapor deposition method
The lack of complete understanding of the substrate effects on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) growth poses a lot oftechnical challenges. Here, we report the direct growth of nanostructures such as the CNTs on stainless steel 304and brass substrates using thermal chemical vapor deposition (TCVD) process with C2H2 gas as carbon sourceand hydrogen as supporting gas mixed in Ar gas flow. We used an especi...
متن کاملDiamond icosahedron on a TiN-coated steel substrate
Diamond layers have been deposited by hot filament chemical vapour deposition (HF CVD) on TiN-coated steel substrates. After deposition, we could observe separate, well-developed diamond icosahedrons and decahedrons on the surface. We have found that a lower content of methane in hydrogen supports their growth, this being a result of multifold twinning. The quality of diamond layers has been ev...
